Histoire d’une œuvre – Vague

Story of an artwork - Vague ('Wave')

What fascinates me most about ceramics is the silent alchemy that unfolds between the Elements. Earth first – raw, mineral, the primal matter. Then Water – softening it, making it malleable, opening the field of possibilities. Then Air – fixing forms with patience, giving them their first presence. And finally, Fire – the ultimate element of transformation, sealing the work and revealing its deep, unpredictable hues.

From this encounter, each piece is born unique. In my world, this process From this encounter, each piece is born unique. In my world, this process lets the organic emerge from the mineral – like a rebirth. I often say I (re)give Life to Earth.

It is this magic of transformation that 'Wave' seeks to embody – through its subtle blend of colours: the sands of the depths, the blue of the ocean, the whiteness of foam. Through its round, full, protective form – both grounded and fluid, evoking both the stability of a core and the perpetual movement of water. Through its marine-like branches – delicate ramifications that suggest growth, expansion, and life in motion.

'Wave' is an invitation to let go – to trust. A gentle, soothing wave, carrying a quiet strength. A wave that gathers as much as it carries. A wave of hope – a promise of renewal, of beginning again, of harmony restored.

‘From the depths, a wave arises,
stirred by the whispering breeze,
awakening slumbering seas.
When mineral and organic entwine – it surprises,
a dance,
where sand and water gently unveil
life — ever returning, without fail.’
